All of our harps are similar in design and construction.
Structural frame and pin block are made of solid walnut, cherry or maple.
Laminated veneer with matching color and grain pattern are used on side and back panels to enhance appearance.
Side and back panels are inserted into precisely machined dado grooves on solid wood corners and base which makes the harps durable and strong, yet light-weight. Soundboards are the heart of the good sound which our harps are known for.
The material used for soundboard is a premium grade Finnish aircraft laminate which is 1/8" thick and consists of six layers cross-laminated birch wood which has a relatively short grain due to being northern-grown. The "cross-lam" provides exceptional strength while being relatively low in weight which allows making decorative cut-outs on both the bottom and top ends of the string band. This opens up the soundboard and makes it free to vibrate over its entire surface - a feature which thicker, stiffer and more confined soundboards cannot attain.
The above features are reasons why our harps produce exceptional tone quality. This is especially true on our small harps which, we believe, feature the best combination of good tone and affordable price.
